LOCAL PROGRAM

Each year The League of Women Voters at all levels, national, state and local develop programs that guide their work for the next year or two. We educate and advocate for those issues that are most current and important to us. The issues are voted on by members and representatives, and thus represent grassroots efforts to influence government at all levels.

The League of Women Voters of Mt. Baldy Area plan all educational programs around our program issues. Our program issues for 2024 are:

Responsibility of citizenship

Housing and Homelessness, with special emphasis on climate justice

Criminal Justice Reform

Water conservation, management and equity

Campaign for Making Democracy Work®: ensuring a free, fair and accessible electoral system for all eligible voters by focusing on Voting Rights, Improving Elections, Campaign Finance/Money in Politics and Redistricting.
